The People’s Choice Festival of Pa Arts & Crafts was first organized in 1993 to run concurrently with the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. It offered 50 artists, a handful of food vendors and a few volunteer musicians to perform. Today, the number of artists often tops 150, and there are often more than 40 musical groups. An estimated 95,000 people visited the festival in 2007, which featured 171 artists, 48 musical performances and a plethora of foods.
The Pa Military Museum is on Business Route 322 in Boalsburg, Pa. The festival will take place at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and from Noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The Little Smilin’ Choo Choo will take riders throughout the festival. There is a nominal charge to ride the train, per rider. The train station is located at the center of the festival in the kids area. The People's Choice Festival is a newly incorporated nonprofit organization. The Festival rents the property from the Friends of the Pennsylvania Military Museum. Parking is provided by the Friends. Free shuttle golf carts are available to assist patrons in getting around the festival grounds. For more information, visit http://www.peopleschoicefestival.com/index.php. |
