The Grange Fair is the last encampment fair in the U.S. That means that during the fair, folks from all over the country converge on the Grange Fairgrounds, some with their RV's, and others as tenants of the famous Grange Fair Tents. No visit to this county fair is complete without strolling through the tent and RV areas to see the lavishly decorated "homes" of the Grange Fair! And prepare to see anything from white picket fences to grass huts!
Reminder: Pets are not permitted at the Grange Fair, so please leave them at home. Seeing eye dogs are the only exception to this important rule.
Grange Fair was born 135 years ago when Leonard Rhone convinced the Progress Grange to have a pick-nic with sister Granges. All would invite their friends and neighbors to learn about the many benefits of the Grange organization. Many innovations were introduced through the years as "never before seen" items. For many, the pick-nic was the first place they saw electricity, or a light bulb! And the latest ideas for making agriculture better were shared as well. This event became the annual family vacation for many folks.
Well over a hundred years later, the Grange Fair as it's now known, has grown to include 950 tents, 1300 RV's, hundreds of concessions, over 7,000 exhibit items, amusement rides, livestock, tractor pulling and much more! The traditional end of summer for the school kids...family reunion time for numerous families...and one terrific way to spend a late summer day and evening.
Come out to see numerous exhibits, sale items and competition exhibits featuring the most talented artists, craftsmen, cooks, and bakers around.
There are TWO ride areas, on by Garbrick's Amusment and one by Bartlebaugh Amusements and there are wristband specials every day! Concerts and shows take place at several locations and feature something for everyone and the best part is, concerts are included in the price of admission! See performances by Moe Bandy, The Van Dells, Abby Abbondanza, Justin Moore, Percy Sledge, and Hotel California with their salute to The Eagles! A Grange Fair favorite is Michael Blaine, Hypnotist, at the Southside Stage several days during the fair. You won't believe what he'll have the audience doing with mere suggestion.
