Join Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center at Rock Springs for the annual Ag Progress Days. Held each August, there is never a better time to come and learn about exciting advances in agricultural equipment, research and production. This year’s edition of Ag Progress Days promises to be better than ever, featuring tours, research presentations, live animals and activities for kids of all ages. If it has anything to do with agriculture, it will be here! From machinery demonstrations to research presentations to story telling for the kids and even how-to exhibits, Ag Progress Days has it all. As always, Ag Progress Days are brought to you with free parking and free admission.
Dates/Times
Ag Progress Days (APD), Pennsylvania's largest outdoor agricultural exposition, will return for its annual three-day run, Aug. 18-20. Sponsored by Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences, the event is held at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center at Rock Springs, nine miles southwest of State College on Pa. Route 45.
Hours are:
9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 18
9:00 am to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19
9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Thursday, August 20
Ag Progress Days is also a great event for families. Many family-oriented events take place throughout each day of the event including a corn maze, guided tours, family living programs and much more.
Free guided tours of Penn State research facilities leave every 20 minutes throughout the day and stop at Penn State’s research farms around the area.
More than 350 exhibitors will put their goods and services on display throughout the weekend. Agriculture experts from Penn State and elsewhere will also be on hand to answer questions and provide insight on any topic dealing with agriculture.
Parking and Shuttle Service
Parking and CATA shuttle service from State College will all be provided free of charge once again.
