The State Theatre presents the film Rocky Horror Picture Show May 19 at 11:30 p.m. The story, narrated by a criminologist, tells the tale of a newly engaged couple, Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, who find themselves lost and with a flat tire late one cold and rainy November evening. Seeking a phone with which to call for help, Brad and Janet discover a group of strange and outlandish people who are holding an Annual Transylvanian Convention. They are soon swept into the world of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The ensemble of convention attendees also include servants Riff Raff, his sister/lover Magenta, and a groupie named Columbia.
The cast boasts several fantastic and well-known actors, including: Tim Curry as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Susan Sarandon as Janet Weiss, Barry Bostwick as Brad Majors, and Meatloaf as Eddie, an ex-delivery boy.
The film is considered to be the longest-running release in film history. It has never been pulled by 20th Century Fox from its original 1975 release, and it continues to play in cinemas. Requirements:
- You must have someone at your house/building or garden to conduct a tour through them or answer questions from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
- You need to provide the League of Women Voters with a short description (~100 words) of the green aspects of your home/building or garden you will be showing on the tour. You must submit this description to the LWV by May 1st. These descriptions will be put in a brochure to be distributed to people taking the tour. Please include the address and any specific directions they may need to find your spot if it is not obvious from Google maps.
- You need to make sign(s) to put up at your spot on the tour to help people to find it. If you do not have the resources to make a sign, the LWV can help you make one, but you need to put out the sign on the day of the event.

Lunch with Leaders Program Raffle

The State College Sunrise Rotary Club is honoring Russ Rose as the first community leader in its "Lunch with Leaders" program. The Rotary will sell raffle tickets to the event, and the individual with the winning ticket will have lunch with Coach Rose. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. The event will be held at a date this spring that is mutually agreeable to Coach Rose and the person winning the raffle. Proceeds benefit the Juvenile Diabetes organization and Rotary programs.
