Solicitors will identify themselves as Bald Eagle Lodge No. 51, Fraternal Order of Police and do not ask for cash payments or credit card information, but request checks be made out to the Lodge. Patton Township residents are reminded that all sidewalks must be cleaned of all snow/ice within 24 hours after the end of the storm. Also, there is no parking on Patton Township streets within 48 hours after a snow accumulation of at least 2 inches, or if a snow emergency is declared.
Veolia Environmental Services Christmas Tree Recycling

Veolia Environmental Services residential customers in Benner, College, Ferguson, Harris and Patton Townships will have free Christmas tree recycling collections January 9-13 on their regular collection day. No bags or decorations on trees. After January 13, trees will be included in normal trash pickup.
State College Borough Refuse Collection Notice

Due to New Years, there will be no refuse/recycling collection for State College Borough residents on January 2. Those with collections scheduled for that day will have a collection January 4 instead. Bulk and brush collection won't be collected the week of January 2. State College Downtown Rotary Club 2012 Dining and Entertainment Book

The State College Downtown Rotary Club's 2012 Dining and Entertainment book is now available. The publication includes 62 2-for-1 vouchers valued at over $600, for a cost of just $20. Books are available from any club member, or at the following locations: CATA, Moyers Jewelers and Sepich Eye Care during regular business hours. Proceeds benefit the State College Food Bank, YMCA, high school scholarships and other Rotary-supported projects.

Centre County 2012 dog licenses are now available for purchase. State law requires all dogs, three months or older, to be licensed. YMCA Weigh to Go Campaign

The Bellefonte YMCA presents the "Weigh to Go" community-wide weight loss challenge. Individuals or teams will have the opportunity to log weight loss, activity minutes or both. Registration is $10, which includes a t-shirt. The deadline to signup is January 11. Prizes will be awarded to the team or individual with the highest total weight loss, the highest percentage of weight loss and the highest total activity minutes. GREAT Girls Program

The GREAT Girls (Girls Respecting Each Other And Themselves) is a program for girls in grades 6-8 to promote self-esteem, self-respect and physical fitness. Each student will have the opportunity to gain positive leadership skills that will help them lead a healthy life. This program will have many components throughout the 6 weeks such as healthy eating, body image, and how to stay active while having fun.
