State College Spikes Blood Drives

The American Red Cross is having the 5th annual State College Spikes blood drives August. All blood types are needed, particularly types 0 negative and B negative. Vacation Bible School Baobab Blast, sponsored by the Centre Hall Council of Churches, is for ages 3 through those who've completed 6th grade. It will be held Aug. 1-6, 6-8:15 pm at Grace United Methodist Church in Centre Hall. Baobab Blast is an open invitation to be a part of God’s Great Get-Together. Set under the impressive baobab tree, kids will have the opportunity to hear the Word, be amazed at God’s wildlife creations, and be a part of a supportive community.
This will be a life-changing experience for your kids as you gather together as a community and grow in faith. As the sun rises and sets on the savannah, so, too, will faith and relationships grow as kids explore connections with God, family, friends, and others around the world. PIAA/SCASD Interscholastic Athletics Physical Exams
Tuesday, May 25, 2010 to Monday, August 09, 2010: Centre County

All students who wish to join a State College Area School District-sponsored PIAA sports team for the 2010 fall season must submit a signed and completed SCASD Parent & Athlete Waiver and Sports Selection (PAWSS) and a PIAA Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (CIPPE) on or before August 9 at 4:00 p.m. The PAWSS and CIPPE will be made available pending PIAA release. Each student and his/her family should schedule a physical evaluation with an authorized medical examiner privately. Exams may be performed on or after June 1.
