Salvation Army Back-to-School Program

The Salvation Army of Centre County is accepting applications for their children's Back-To-School program. The program assists struggling families with children in grades K-12. Families who qualify receive approximately $100 worth of new school clothes and supplies. If you believe you may be eligible, call (814) 861-1785 to schedule an appointment. Space is limited and filling up fast. The event will be held August 21.

Milesburg Little League Tournament

The Milesburg Little League is hosting a 7-8/9-10 tournament July 22-25. Tournament will host two brackets; one for the 7-8 age teams and the other for the 9-10 age teams. PIAA/SCASD Interscholastic Athletics Physical Exams

All students who wish to join a State College Area School District-sponsored PIAA sports team for the 2010 fall season must submit a signed and completed SCASD Parent & Athlete Waiver and Sports Selection (PAWSS) and a PIAA Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (CIPPE) on or before August 9 at 4:00 p.m. The PAWSS and CIPPE will be made available pending PIAA release. Each student and his/her family should schedule a physical evaluation with an authorized medical examiner privately. Exams may be performed on or after June 1.
