Gag lines are popping as events transpire at a whirlwind velocity. Topical humor blends with the traditional antics of farce: doors slamming, characters careening and confusion reigning supreme.

The State Theatre will present the 2010 film 'Greenberg', June 13-17, 2010. In the film, Greenberg (Ben Stiller) is at a crossroads in his life. Out of a job and none too interested in finding one, he agrees to housesit for his younger and more successful brother, thereby getting a free place to stay in Los Angeles. Once settled in, Greenberg sets out to reconnect with his old friend and former bandmate Ivan (Rhys Ifans). But times have changed, and old friends arent necessarily still best friends, so Greenberg finds himself spending more and more time instead with his brothers personal assistant Florence (Greta Gerwig), an aspiring singer and herself something of a lost soul. As their relationship develops through a series of embarrassingly awkward romantic encounters, even someone as irascible as Greenberg might have at last found a reason to be happy.

The Centre County Historical Society presents "Treasures Beneath Your Feet: digging up History in Central PA" June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Centre Furnace Mansion. Dr. Claire McHale Milner will discuss two farmsteads that Penn State students have been excavating in Huntingdon County during over the past four summers. Daniel Massey, a farmer and founding member of Huntingdon County's Farmers Association, owned both of these farms during the mid to late 19th century.

PIAA/SCASD Interscholastic Athletics Physical Exams

All students who wish to join a State College Area School District-sponsored PIAA sports team for the 2010 fall season must submit a signed and completed SCASD Parent & Athlete Waiver and Sports Selection (PAWSS) and a PIAA Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (CIPPE) on or before August 9 at 4:00 p.m. The PAWSS and CIPPE will be made available pending PIAA release. Each student and his/her family should schedule a physical evaluation with an authorized medical examiner privately. Exams may be performed on or after June 1.
