PIAA/SCASD Interscholastic Athletics Physical Exams

All students who wish to join a State College Area School District-sponsored PIAA sports team for the 2010 fall season must submit a signed and completed SCASD Parent & Athlete Waiver and Sports Selection (PAWSS) and a PIAA Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (CIPPE) on or before August 9 at 4:00 p.m. The PAWSS and CIPPE will be made available pending PIAA release. Each student and his/her family should schedule a physical evaluation with an authorized medical examiner privately. Exams may be performed on or after June 1.
Contemporary Homes Photo Exhibit

"Cartey, California, and Conservation: Select Centre County Contemporaries," a photo exhibit of several late-mid-century-style homes, will be presented in the lobby of the State College Municipal Building during the month of June. The exhibit is the work of Robert E. Malcom, sponsored by the Centre County Historical Society.

Research volunteers are needed to study skin blood flow due to high blood pressure. Volunteer subjects receive physical screenings and compensation for experiments. 4-5 visits to Noll Lab are required. Eligibility criteria: Men and Women ages 40-60 who have or might have high blood pressure, but nonsmoker, not overweight, no heart or blood pressure medications, no oral contraceptives, no HRT and not pregnant.
