Military Museum Witner Closing

YMCA of Centre County Girls Program

The YMCA of Centre County will be starting a program for girls’ ages 6-9th grade designed to promote self-esteem and self-respect with a section of physical fitness. Each student will have the opportunity to gain positive leadership skills that will help them lead a healthy life. This program, Great Girls, will have many components throughout the 8 weeks such as healthy eating, body image, and how to stay active while having fun. The program will meet every Tuesday and Thursday 4:00-5:30pm starting on March 15th at the State College YMCA. There will be a bus from Mount Nittany Middle School that can drop off at the YMCA if you contact the school. The cost of the program for members is $80 and $100 for non-members. A man writes, lives and loves in darkness. Fourteen years before, he was in a brutal car crash on the island of Lanzarote. In the accident, he not only lost his sight, he also lost Magdalena “Lena” Rivas, played by Penelope Cruz, the love of his life.
This man uses two names: Harry Caine, a playful pseudonym with which he signs his literary works, stories and scripts, and Mateo Blanco, his real name, with which he lives and signs the film he directs, played by Lluís Homar. After the accident, Mateo Blanco reduces himself to his pseudonym, Harry Caine. If he can’t direct films he can only survive with the idea that Mateo Blanco died on Lanzarote with his beloved Lena.
