Registration is open to any girl in 3-6 grades that attends one of the Philipsburg-Osceola elementary schools. Games start at the beginning of May and the season ends by June 30. The YMCA of Centre County will be starting a program for girls’ ages 6-9th grade designed to promote self-esteem and self-respect with a section of physical fitness. Each student will have the opportunity to gain positive leadership skills that will help them lead a healthy life. This program, Great Girls, will have many components throughout the 8 weeks such as healthy eating, body image, and how to stay active while having fun. The program will meet every Tuesday and Thursday 4:00-5:30pm starting on March 15th at the State College YMCA. There will be a bus from Mount Nittany Middle School that can drop off at the YMCA if you contact the school. The cost of the program for members is $80 and $100 for non-members.
