Category: Educational;For All;Military;Community Annc
The Pennsylvania Military Museum will open on March 5 with new interpretative labels discussing the PA Historical and Museum Commission theme for 2009, Energy: Innovation and Impact. The Military Museum will exhibit several labels utilizing an innovative interpretive display called the Tactical Educational Kiosk (TEK) designed by the architectural students of Penn State professor Warren Wake as the passing grade for a class-engineering project. The TEK is extremely low-tech device yet imparts an impressive amount of information. Other concepts discussed within the energy theme are the use of bicycles in combat, powering cars on charcoal and the development of synthetic fuel. In addition to the TEK display there are a series of special labels throughout the exhibit highlighting the importance of oil in World War Two. The special energy theme will remain on display through the end of the year.
