Columbia Fire Company Roast Beef Dinner $6-$9 Sunday, January 18, 2009 @ 11:00 AM: Osceola Mills The Columbia Fire Company, 140 Curtain Street in Osceola Mills, is holding a roast beef dinner January 18 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Slow roasted roast beef, potatoes, vegetables, roll and delicious desserts will be served along with a full salad bar for those eating at the fire hall. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Banquet Thursday, January 15, 2009 @ 6:30 PM: Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel Penn State's Forum on Black Affairs (FOBA) will host the 34th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Banquet on Dr. King's birthday, January 15 in the President's Hall at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the banquet begins at 6:30 p.m. The theme this year is, "Make a Career of Humanity". This year's banquet will feature an artistic performance by local students, produced and choreographed by Penn State Assistant Professor of Dance Kikora Franklin. Other highlights include the annual presentation of the State College Area School District awards, as well as the presentation of the 2009 Humanitarian Service Award, established in 1985 to honor a person who has provided outstanding service to African-American citizens of Pennsylvania, especially at Penn State and in the Centre County region.
