The Nerd
June 25 - July 5, 2009: Millbrook Playhouse
Cost: $8-$18 with season passes available
Showtimes 7:30 p.m. Wed.-Sat., and 2 p.m. Sun. NO SHOW JULY 4 : Millbrook Playhouse Caberet : By the same author as last year’s sold out hit The Foreigner. Willum Cubbert has often told his friends about the debt he owes to Rick Steadman, an ex-GI whom Willum has never met but who saved his life in Vietnam. Rick arrives unexpectedly on the night of Willium’s birthday party. Willum is delighted, until it becomes apparent that Rick is a hopeless nerd: a bumbling oaf with no social sense, little intelligence and less tact. Rick moves in, leading to one uproarious incident after another, until the normally placid Willum finds himself contemplating violence until the surprising twist ending of the play. "…the audience almost never stops laughing—handkerchiefs wiping away tears of merriment…" - Variety

Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 8:00 PM: The State Theatre
Cost: $40, $37 Students and Seniors, $25 for back row
Since March 2001, the hilarious show Menopause The Musical® has entertained and inspired women from coast-to-coast and internationally. Menopause The Musical® is the work of writer Jeanie Linders. This uplifting 90-minute production includes parodies from the '60s and '70s and '80s. It culminates with a salute to women who are experiencing The Change.
Set in a department store, where four women with seemingly nothing in common but a black lace bra meet by chance at a lingerie sale. The all-female cast makes fun of their woeful hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats and chocolate binges. A sisterhood is created between these diverse women as they realize that menopause is no longer The Silent Passage! It is a stage in every woman's life that is perfectly normal!
